I've always been fascinated by innovative devices (Read: I love my job). Most of them end up being ambitious projects by technical wizards... but they dont quite mature to the end of their "hype cycle" and hence vaporize before showing any sign of mass appeal. Nevertheless, they certainly cause that temporary buzz and give us a peek into our future.
Ceatec is Asia's largest techonology showdown, held every year in Japan. The big-wigs of technology showcase all their prototypes out here and astonish the audience.
